Typhus and others...

For the life of me I am not able to take pictures that i am satisfied with. I guess thats what you get with a hand me down camera... oh well, here is some more stuff I've been working on lately. This army is really coming together fairly quick. I hope to have most of it done by the end of Jan, then its back to painting my Fists again... (I swear! ha!) Anyhow, here is crappy picture 1 of Typhus and some terminators...

Here is another angle...

Lastly here is a WIP biker... at first I had some electric wire connecting the back barrel to the guns... but the gauge was a bit too big, so next trip to the hardware store, will try and find something more fitting. I like the way the barrel turned out, not 100% happy with the colors of the funk in the barrel, bit it is a WIP so will post again as I finish up some more of em.

And finally, anyone have suggestions on taking photos of your minis? I've got a small sony digital camera and too me it always seems that the flash is too much, but outside lighting is never enough, it could be that im using those 'florescent bulbs' actually im pretty sure that is why the non flash photos look even worse. So would love to here what you all do to take your photos.. Next up, probably more bikers and or my landraider.
til then...

I use a normal digital camera (8mp)on macro mode with 2 normal desk lamps. One from each side to reduce shadows. Turn the flash off, zoom in and then post process the photos using Picasa (free download) and simple. You can add shadow/contrast/enrich colours/brighten up/crop etc. really easily.

Thanks, will try with 2 lamps and perhaps go ahead and buy some of the regular light bulbs for my next round of pictures and see how they turn out!

Nice conversions! simple, effective, and clearly shows that they're not stock models... You're really hammering this army out. Can wait to see the whole thing done.

I messed around with 2 lamps a bunch of times with mixed results. I never quite nailed it - and can't do it with consistency. All of my best photos were actually taken near the windows on a bright sunny day on Macro.

As always, you are pounding this army out and it is definitely the most visually dynamic army you've done. Keep it up!
