AdMech Heavy Weapons Squads v2

Hey all, So made some recent conversions for my IG AdMech army and thought i'd share.
These models are from Microart Studios and are pretty cool as is (another conversion here), but wasn't totally happy with that one, so wanted to try a missile launcher squad. My other heavy weapons squads were based on the RT rapier laser chassy and the FG demolition tank. but those are expensive or hard to find, so while the actual cast on these guys isn't the best... they still look pretty good IMO...
First group shot.

i liked the body/head on with this model, so didn't take much to add some bionics to fill out the whole body. they are a bit 'wonky' looking but really fit with the AdMech theme me thinks.

and i was able to pose them in different positions without too much work

all these missile came from the chimera sprues.. unfortunately, i only had 5.. so the one the guy is holding is from another random sprue. i figure i can easily justify the differences by frag or krak right ;)

And thats it for today, next up the 25th anniversary GW 40k Crimson Fists model. Almost done painting that guy up.
Cheers,
Brose

Battle for Piscina IV: Dark Angel Army Lists

After hours of pouring through The Purging of Kadillus and cross referencing the novel with the original Storm of Vengeance campaign pack I have constructed the following RECOMMENDED army lists. For the most accurate recreation of the events these are the forces you should ideally have. Due to time constraints it is understood that people will most likely have forces that diverge from the below suggestions - but let it be known that purists will be rewarded heavily. Also understand that during most scenarios you will only be commanding a portion of your recommended forces and certain optional forces would be completely unsuited for the scenarios so do your best to stick as closely to the recommendations as possible.

This is the first wave of Army Lists. Army Lists for the Imperial Guard and Ork forces will follow shortly.

Master Belial, Company Master

Power armor, Bolt pistol, Plasma pistol, Frag grenades, Krak grenades, Displacer field (4+ Invulnerable save), Power sword. (130 points)

Predator Hammer of Judgement (up to 150)
Total: 1000 points

Interrogator-Chaplain Sarpedon

Personal equipment:
Power armor, Bolt pistol, Frag grenades, Krak grenades, Rosarius, Crozius Arcanum, Power sword. (120 points)

Recommended forces:
Lexicanum Acutus (up to 145 points)

Assault Squad Menelauis (up to 295 points)

Optional forces:
You can still participate by bringing a 1000 point force from Codex: Dark Angels, but understand that certain options are not suitable for certain scenarios. The closer you adhere to the recommended forces the better.

Koth-Indola Highway - Cut and Run

"Orders are not interpreted, Naaman; they are followed. Remember that." -Ravenwing Sergeant Aquila
(taken from The Purging of Kadillus by Gav Thorpe)

The 2nd chapter of The Purging of Kadillus is The Tale of Naaman, Cut and Run. This chapter focuses on Scout Squad Naaman and Ravenwing Squad Aquila patroling the Koth-Indola highway looking for Ork squads lingering behind the main Ork force battling in Kadillus Harbor. Master Belial had given specific orders to patrol a set area but Naaman has a hunch that a much larger force of Orks has made planet fall somewhere further to the east than their orders permit them to investigate. Much of the chapter involves personality conflicts between Aquila and Naaman, but also highlights how the 2nd Company and 10th Company coordinate their actions within the Dark Angels.

The chapter has two main periods of action. A small skirmish at the beginning, and then a larger skirmish based on the Storm of Vengeance scenario - Cut and Run. The original forces are vastly different than those in the book so the Ork army lists are going to look a bit different if you never read the novel.

Army Lists

Veteran Sergeant Naaman with Stasis Grenade (Dark Angels) (65 points)
Scout Squad Naaman Scout Squad (up to 150 points)
Ravenwing Bike Squad Aquila (up to 235 points)
Total: 450 points

Nazdreg Urdgrub with Mega Armor, Kustom Force Field, Power Klaw with built in Scorcha, and Snazzgun with More Dakka, Shootier, and Blastas (Bad Moon Orks) (175 points)
Painboy Lurksnag with Flash Gitz Mob (up to 350 points)
Battlewagon (up to 175 points)
Total: 700 points.

Mekaniak Grodmek with Shoota (Orks) (45 points)
Ork Boyz Mob in Trukk (up to 140 points)
Ork Boyz Mob in Trukk (up to 140 points)
Kommando Mob (up to 125 points)
Total: 450 points

It should be noted that as I was putting together this list I could see Nazdreg's forces mounting in cost between the various scenarios. In an effort to reel them in I modified both this scenario and The Battle of Barrak Gorge to cap Nazdreg at 1000 points. More modifications may happen as I continue to sort out the army lists.

The Battle of Barrak Gorge

THIS POST HAS BEEN MODIFIED 2/29/12

"Count only the dead of the enemy and pay no heed to the fears that whisper. Every ork you kill is one less that will fall upon your homes and families. Share the rage of the Dark Angels and slay these loathsome creatures. Sanctorius via mortis majorus. Kill without relent and taste the sweetness of victory!" -Chaplain Boreas
(taken from The Purging of Kadillus by Gav Thorpe)

In The Purging of Kadillus the Battle of Barrak Gorge can be separated into two substantial engagements that feature a very small faction of Dark Angels Space Marines, roughly 200 Imperial Guardsmen, and approximately 500 Ork infantry supported by bikes and light vehicles. It is probably the most dramatic battle of the whole book. These forces will be represented by these armies.

Army Lists

Interrogator-Chaplain Boreas, Company Chaplain - Dark Angels Space Marines (125 points)
1 Assault Squad (up to 300 points)
1 Ravenwing Support Squad (up to 100 points)
Total: 525 points.

Colonel Grautz - Piscina Free Militia Imperial Guard
1 Command Squad
1-2 Infantry Platoons
The historical forces had no vehicular support and there is no mention of Special Weapons. Only Heavy Weapons Squads (all varieties) were present at Barrak Gorge.
Total: 1000 points.

Warlord Nazdreg Ug Urdgrub - Bad Moon Orks
(Mega Armor, Kustom Force Field, Power Klaw with built in Burna, and Snazzgun with More Dakka, Shootier, and Blastas) (175 points)
Painboy Lurksnag with Flash Gitz Mob (up to 350 points)
1 Goff Ork Ard Boyz Mob (up to 175 points)
Total: 700 points

Mekaniak Badmek - Orks (up to 85 points)
1 Gretchin Mob (up to 65 points)
1 Warbiker Squadron (up to 300 points)
1 Warbuggy Squadron (up to 150 points)
Total: 600 points

Mekaniak Grodmek with Shoota (45 points)
Ork Boyz Mob (up to 115 points)
Ork Boyz Mob (up to 115 points)
Kommando Mob (up to 125 points)
Total: 400 points

These are just sample army lists to show how the event is going to be roughly structured. I realize that I'm behind the ball on posting this information. More army lists coming soon.

First Khador Warjack

Hey all, switching gears here for a bit... quite a few months ago I bought the Warmachine box set to try and branch out from 40k. I filed and partially assembled the models to ready them for priming and then they sat because of other projects and time constraints, but yesterday had some time after work and decided to give one ago. Painted this warjack in about 5 hours and fairly happy with it. Using GW paint still and have been told i should really switch to P3 to paint this guys for a more vibrant color, but not sure i want to invest in more paints as i currently have so so much citidel. Also, tried to follow the paint schema as close to 'default' as possible, but don't really like the gold on the stock models, so thought i would try the tin bits color... not sure i am really happy with this either, so may do some more minor adjustments soon... Anyhow, i have no other 40k projects in my near future, so might actually get this box set done in the next couple months and actually try and learn how to play this game! ;)
